Friday Freewrite #51 – “Letting go…”

Welcome back to the Friday Freewrite!

Here’s how it works: I post a “JUMP LINE,” a short phrase that will serve as a writing prompt, each Friday.

YOU put pen to paper and write for 90 seconds. (I’ll do it, too, of course.)  Don’t think.  Don’t cross out.  (That is wise advice borrowed from Natalie Goldberg in Wild Mind.)  Just start with the prompt and see where it takes you.

Then POST YOUR RESPONSE as a comment.  (Just click the comment bubble  to the right of the post title to leave a reply.)

Today’s jump line:  Letting go…

See the comments below the post for responses.  Happy writing!

  1. Letting go is so much easier said than done for me. I can blather on about the power I possess over my circumstances and thoughts….but when I am alone and silent, my heart talks and I must listen.

  2. …I’ve decided recently, is the point. Really, I think it’s the point of everything, a manifestation of acceptance, of truly being in the moment. Attachment causes us so much pain, but then again we can’t not care, as much as we might yearn for freedom from caring, and when we care, we naturally become attached to certain individuals, places, things, and outcomes.
